The UCJC School of Architecture at the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, India. Join the team and participate!

The UCJC School of Architecture will participate in the construction of one of the pavilions of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale in India, the project presented by the architect Luis Feduchi, dean of said School of Architecture, having been selected.

A team of teachers and students will fly to India at the end of November to take part in the International Workshop Timber Prototyping that will develop the construction of the pavilion in bamboo in collaboration with the prestigious university CEPT from Ahmedabad.

The workshop will take place from the 1st until the 18th December and has a dual objective:

TEACHING

Technique. The students will be able to learn the techniques of the construction with bamboo from our professors Eugenia Muscio and Daniel García, with the collaboration of experts like Fátima Martín.

Fab Lab. Furthermore, they will work in the Fab Lab of CEPT (Laboratory of Fabrication) learning techniques for digital fabrication.

International Experience. In the workshop students of the university CEPT and the UCJC will participate, with contact with international workgroups and teachers.

PARTICIPATION IN THE KOCHI-MUZIRIS BIENNALE

The students will participate, along with local trainers, in the on-site construction of a pavilion and will assist in the inauguration of the Biennale.

SCHOLARSHIPS

For the participation in the workshop 2 scholarships for students of the UCJC and 2 other scholarships for students from other universities will be granted, which render the workshop free of cost.

2 Residency Fellowships will be awarded between the participants of the Workshop for a 5 month internship connected to education in India.
