David García-Louzao Araujo, Architecture student in the ETSAyT (Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura y Tecnología) of the UCJC, is one of the finalists in the International competition IS ARCH 2014, with a project developed in the Projects 6 subject taught by professor Arturo Blanco.
The project was selected from 204 projects and discussed by the International Jury of the competition, composed of Sir Peter Cook, Odile Decq (Studio Oldile Decq), Fuensanta Nieto (Nieto Sobejano Arquitectos), Diego L. Arahuetes (Kengo Kuma), Tomislav Dushanov (Herzog & de Meuron), Gavin Robotham (Cook Robotham Architectural Bureau), Benedetta Tagliabue (Miralles Tagliabue EMBT).
The finalist project titled “Recycling Collective Housing Tetuán¨ proposes a generation of strategies of urban recycling in some parts of the Tetuán district of Madrid, reconnecting spaces without use but with a great potency for re-inhabiting, like the integration of the social collectives of the neighborhood by means of recycling the actual residential space.
